back to memphis we go :)

last week was camp in Roach, Missouri. God is doing SO MUCH in my youth group, i'm SO SO SO excited about it! I shared my testimony and two guys got saved after hearing it, i'm SO happy that God is working through me to reach others. Also, i sponsor a nine year old boy from Guatemala named Mynor Fernando Loarca Bulux through compassion international. PLEASE keep him and his family in your prayers.

This past week, the Thomas family (the missionaries from Guatemala) came back to the US until late october or the first of November. Some of the pictures are from where we went to meet them at the airport:)

The fourth is tomorrow! I hope everyone is in good spirits, and I look forward to hearing from ya'll soon!

I've definitely come back into civilization...

everything has been SUPERRRR busy. AH i'm just so tired !
the past couple of months i've really focused on school and such
the week after school was out, i went to see my mom in Bryan, Texas..
evidently i've grown up a LOT in the past year because she had a fit
she is now a size 5, and shorter than me so we are able to share clothes.
CRAZYYY right ?

the day i got back i worked VBS- outrigger island :) it was SO much fun !
then last sunday i left for a mission trip in binghamton- which is the "ghetto" of memphis
i was there for SOS (service over self) and we roofed houses the whole week
we found two 9MM bullets in our roof
and witnessed a gang fight right in front of the house
but because we were with SOS, they respect us and won't hurt us
there's just so many things that we look over in our own communities
when we can just serve right where we are.
wednesday i'm leavin for CLanton, Alabama to see my aunt's parents
then to Decatur on Friday to see the family !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
summer has definitely kicked off for me :)
and i love it !

so i'm back in the united states...

GUATEMALA WAS AMAZING ! words can't even explain it. God did SO many great and AWESOME things on this trip, WOW ! I'm pretty sure I left some of my heart with the Pokomchi... PLEASE keep them in your prayers, they seriously need it. Here's a few pictures... We mainly stayed in San Cristobal, shopped in Coban, and we were in the capital for about two days. The rest of the time, we were in the mountains in a village called Navidad(i know right?) ministering to the Pokomchi people. There was a team of 20 of us plus 3 translators... We all ended up staying in a SUPER small church... on cots. The second day we were camping, my LORD we hiked for four hours to a village called Pambon Grande. Girls had to wear skirts made out of 8 yards of fabric and flip flops to HIKE in, and on the way back, we ran out of water... completely. Also, I believe i forgot to mention the fact that we had NO shower for FIVE days and that the water there is extremely poison. WELLLLL, we would get invited into the people's houses and they would give us something to drink, so we drank it... Knowing we would be paying for that later, and we still are. In the end though, if I was given the chance to go back, I would be the first one on that plane, NO LIE.

daniel thomas, selena rivers, me, and elizabeth neal
(the Thomas family are missionaries in Guatemala through the IMB.out church partners with them in order to take trips down there. Also, they have four kids- Andrew(16), Bethany(14), Caleb(12), Daniel (8).)

elizabeth neal, me, bethany thomas, emilie neal, selena rivers.
after 5 days... NO shower :(

me, walker, miles, and andrew... this was in the capital on the last night.
we had a steak that was a meter long, literally.
AMERICAN FOOD ! (it was gone in 8 minutes flat)

the people of San Cristobal make a SAWDUST carpet every year on good friday starting at the town square and leading all the way up to the little catholic church on the hill. these people are SO confused about religion, they have a Mayan sacrifice literally right outside the door of the CATHOLIC church. Also, during the parade down the carpet, they had mary come from one end and Jesus from the other... they ended up bowing the Jesus to Mary. :( THEY NEED PRAYER !

this is Maria. she's receiving a set of cassettes of the gospel in the pokomchi language. the man with the backpack is abraham, our pokimchi translator. i was VERY lucky to get this picture because they think you'll steal their soul when you take a picture. KEEP HER IN YOUR PRAYERS... please?

this is all the pictures for now, email me or something if you wanna see more.
